terrific video. wonder if we should add a category to the Sci & Tech part of the forum for "synthetic life" or microbiology or something?
my question is regarding his comment on the suicide gene (if the organism gets out of the lab, it can be activated to kill it) - how does the activation happen?

Funny you should say that, I was thinking that a 'Genetics' category would round things out here somewhat (Nano, A.I., Genetics) but didn't bring it up as I'm into the Singularity (as you can tell) and thought that maybe this was my bias..but seeing as you brought it up..
